DBH: Where are you from?
B: Born and raised in Madrid, Spain
DBH: How would you best describe your art style? B: As an illustrator, it is important to have a unique style that sets you apart from the rest. In my case, the use of thick, clean and simple lines. Features that define my style include the use of black and white and geometric and symmetrical shapes.
DBH: Where do you find your inspiration when creating your art? B: I find my inspiration in the traditional tattoo stuff, vintage skateboard graphics, logos and the symbology of secret societies.
DBH: When did you know you wanted to make a career in the art world? B: From a very young age I have been interested in everything involved with aesthetics and art. Drawing has always been my great passion, I was never really good at school, so this was my way to express myself, and finally it became my way of life. DBH: What does a day of creating artwork look like for you and how to you start your creative process?
DBH: What does a day of creating artwork look like for you and how to you start your creative process? B: I let myself go for inspiration, every time I look for more ideas outside the Internet: travel, museums, books, tattoo studios are some places to look. When I have some references that fit what I want to shape, I make a sketch and start working on the computer until I find a clean and simple result.
DBH: What artist (either current or past) do you most admire and why? B: I admire many artists. But if I have to choose one it would be, definitely, Mike Giant. He comes from a tattoo, graffiti, and illustration background. All of his work has a distinct look in black and white. I like his technique, how he hand-prints his illustrations so cleanly and takes care of the details.
DBH: What's the best advice that's been given to you as an artist? B: “Defeat your enemy with success”
