Featured Artist: Astronaut Arc
Hungarian artist Robert Farkas a.k.a. astronautARC started out creating t-shirt designs in his free time while working for a small animation studio. “After a while,” he tells us, “it turned out that people liked my artworks and I could even quit my job.
That was two years ago and my daughter has been born since then. I think it was a very good decision to become a freelancer because of her.”
When creative inspiration strikes Robert tells us he immediately sketches the idea out so as not to forget. “After I've done the sketch I search a picture in my stock database, and based on that picture I try to express the idea of the original drawing in Photoshop using pre-scanned watercolor textures.”

We asked Robert what artist he most admires, and he tells us Roy Lichtenstein. “He invented something very simple but special: how to turn cartoon into art and his sculptures are awesome!”
