Silvia, aka OctoflyArt, loves pursing graffiti design. The bold and colorful art style is a perfect surprise to discover on the side of a building during an afternoon stroll. Although she dreams of moving to England someday, she declares, “I love Italy too much to leave it!” In fact, she shows her home city love by leaving personal touches of graffiti art spread throughout every neighborhood.
Silvia believes that being an artist means being able to “transform reality into one’s personal point of view” and she is always imagining the unimaginable. Her greatest inspiration — or the artist who embodies being able to translate his personal point of view onto a canvas — is the post-impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh. His artwork continues to encourage her to experiment and “however, melancholic [it] always inspires me to go on.”
OctoflyArt appreciates being able to be an artist in today’s society. The invention of the internet means that she always has the world’s artwork at her fingertips. Not only does she love to discover the different kinds of art available in the world, but she also loves having multiple projects of her own as well.
Although she has a vision of how her work should look, “during construction, things always change.” She jokes that “it becomes a problem with graffiti, because I jump from one piece of the wall to another.”
She recognizes that “all creative people, from all over the world there is always something that connects us” and she appreciates being a part of that community. Therefore, more than anything, her ultimate message to the community is simply: find happiness. She encourages others to find joy in their life by “doing what you like,” whatever that might be.
