Belette Le Pink’s self-described “wolves, weasels and animal” DBH store portrays wildlife in a way that is reminiscent of the “painterly” style; audiences are not only invited to run wild with foxes and badgers, but they are encouraged to appreciate the texture and the pen strokes that brings those animals to life.

Belette lives in a “humble house in a nice and quiet neighborhood in the North of Madrid City, in Spain.” However, she looks forward to a time when she can live off the beaten track and “move to a cottage” in the forest or the sea and be surrounded by the wildlife she loves. She shares that her greatest achievement is being able to “unite the love for animals with my artistic work.” She hopes her artwork will help raise awareness for wildlife organizations and conservation efforts. In fact, she teases that she’s just “an adorable and curious Pink Weasel” underneath it all and that she feels a strong kinship and appreciation for the wildlife around her.

She admits that balancing her creative desires with other work can be difficult. Nonetheless, she understands that it is “all about focusing” and having an organized schedule. Still, her greatest struggle comes from being “carried away by discouragement and frustration” and the natural jealousies that arise when she compares her work to the “geniuses around” her. She recognizes that it can be “stressful and complicated” but that being an artist is “who you are” and she jokes, “the show must go on!”

Belette shares that if her style had a taste it would be smoked fish because she appreciates simple, yet intense flavors and styles. She believes that her style will continue to become “more refined” and even hopes that the future will have holographic art so that “my weasels and wolves come to life.”

She admits that knowing when a project is complete is difficult; however, she thinks that an artist can sense when something becomes “too much” or if something is “missing” from a piece. She recognizes that it is only once these two feelings are balanced that an artist can successfully complete a piece of work.
