VictoriaSochivko’s designs make you feel the chill mountain wind on your cheek. Her beautiful wildlife and nature scenes are drawn with sleek lines and perfectly rounded shapes that conceal an expanse of unexpected details, like a forest of pine trees or a crowd of people hiding in the shadows.

VictoriaSochivko admits that “I'm not sure, where is ‘home’ for me” and that she cannot help but feel that, “I am yet to discover it.” Although she has yet to discover home, she admits that she’s never had to discover a passion for art because it was always there. She started drawing when she was 2 years old and “never let go”. She currently works part-time for a company that assists with city planning; she uses her remaining time to work on 3D modeling, pattern-designing, and vector illustration.

She jokes, “I always hate each one of my works for a period of time” because every piece can take time to love and appreciate. Someday, she hopes to pursue professional 3D modeling and game development full time, but that “this field is quite unexplored for me at the moment.” Although she enjoys creating art digitally and “LOVES electronics”, she also believes that “all ideas are born on a simple white sheet.” She can’t live without having a set of soft pencils and white paper available in her studio.

Although most of her design ideas “come from my head”, she also sometimes finds inspiration from Pinterest and other talented artists. In fact, she’d love to have met the British textile designer, William Morris, because she finds inspiration from his amazing work and is encouraged by his influence on the world “in terms of design and an overall understanding of aesthetics.”

She reminds people that — even though other people’s opinions can be helpful for your art — that you must never forget that “your own instinct should always matter too.”
